Cloud Cottage
Sleeps 4 + 2 Bunkbeds + 2 Bathrooms | Pet friendly
Cloud Cottage is in a private setting high on the hillside with sweeping views over the rolling grassland to the mountains beyond. Surrounded by wild flowers and stunning views, the house is a good starting point for great walks and hikes. This secure cottage is ideal family accommodation or suits two couples sharing.
There is covered parking, a kitchen opening onto lounge/dining, two bedrooms with bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen sized bed with adjacent bathroom and leads off to a stoep area. The second bedroom has two twin beds and leads to a small tack room with a bunk bed ideal for the younger generation.
An additional feature is the hot water outdoor shower aptly named the “stout stort” allowing guests to feel really close to nature! The well equipped self catering kitchen has an oven, 4 plate hob, microwave and fridge/freezer.
Curl up with a book in front of a roaring fireplace in the open-plan lounge area with its country furnishings and terracotta tiled floors or unwind and enjoy sundowners while you braai/barbeque on the covered veranda.
Windsong Cottage

This two bedroomed cottage with bathroom in a private setting on the hillside is ideal self-catering family accommodation. The main bedroom is queen bedded and the second bedroom has twin beds. There is a well-appointed bathroom and the additional feature of an outdoor hot water shower. Park securely under cover right at your doorstep and enter the lounge/dining area with soaring pitched ceilings and an open fireplace.
Enjoy a sherry from the complimentary decanter, prepare dinner in the well-equipped kitchen (oven, 4 plate hob, microwave and fridge/freezer), or barbeque on the veranda with stunning views as far as the eye can see. An outdoor area has been fenced for pets, so the whole family can come along and have a great time!
Cosy Cottage

A charming cottage with two bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. The Cosy is in a secure and private position close to the farmstead. The colonial style cottage with its 1930s furnishings and bric-a-brac invokes a refined era when tea was sipped from delicate china and sherry poured from glass decanters.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave and electric stove. The spacious open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen area has an elegant ambience and the appeal of an open fireplace. There are two large and comfortable en-suite double bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, and one with two three quarter beds.
It accommodates four guests in comfort and is ideal family accommodation or for two couples sharing. The Cosy is wheel-chair friendly with a ramp accessing the front door from the parking area and a roll in shower bathroom equipped with a seat and grab-handles and all doorways are extra width.
The long covered veranda festooned with rambling roses overlooks a cottage garden with a bubbling water fountain and views over the water. Barbeque here as the fireflies dance to the frogs’ chorus!
Snug Cottage

The Snug is a restored historical Boer Cottage and is the ultimate romantic hide-away for a couple. A natural spring rises on the property and this pure water cascades down a furrow next to ‘The Snug’ so that the tinkling sound of water is a constant backdrop.
The thick stone walls enclose a cosy bedroom with double bed and open fireplace leading onto a compact kitchen and dining nook with a fridge/freezer, stove, electric frying pan and microwave oven. The adjoining bathroom has a Victorian bath with shower. The furnishings are all in keeping with the era.
The veranda overlooks a verdant vegetable garden with trailing vines as well as the nearby dam and the distant rolling hills. Baskets of kindling and flowerpots all add to the charm. Barbeque on the covered veranda whilst enjoying the magnificent night sky and the sounds of nature.

Things to do at Schaefer's Halt
This farm has fly-fishing in three regularly stocked, medium ponds, as well as access to river fishing. Bird watching, walking, hiking and mountain biking can all be enjoyed on the farm which boasts stunning views, waterfalls, birds and indigenous wild flowers.
The quaint town of Dullstroom gives a glimpse into village life with its high street shopping and many restaurants and pubs.
Schaefer’s Halt is close enough to take a day trip to the many tourist attractions in the Panorama route and on route to the Kruger National Park.
